The Instagram account for Wyld Chyld Tattoos was barely active. Roughly one artist posted there, and only their own work. The shop in Merrick, New York, has about 12 artists and three or four piercers today. Winter is their slow season, when fewer people come through the door.
Someone scrolling the shop's Instagram saw only a small part of what the artists could do. In winter, the shop needed more clients than walk ins brought in.
We ran paid ads on Instagram and Facebook through the slow months, from late in the third quarter through the end of the year. Facebook did not perform as well, so the ads ran mostly on Instagram. Each campaign featured one artist for about six weeks, with four versions of the ad, before the next artist took over. The ads led to the featured artist's portfolio page on the website. The site recognized visitors who came from an ad and showed them a pop up that invited them to book with that artist and said openings were going fast. In the second year, one campaign drew 50,000 views in about six weeks.
Together, the ads and the new way of posting took the shop's Instagram to a peak of about 750,000 impressions in the third and fourth years. Impressions count how many times the posts and ads appeared on someone's screen. New clients now find them through social media and the feed every artist posts to.
The ads ran alongside a new way of posting. Every artist now contributes to the shop's Instagram, and the general manager approves each post. We recommended promoting the shop's events on social media to reach more people on Instagram. The shop holds events with Bikers Against Child Abuse and throws a festival that fills the parking lot. The festival has vendors, discounted tattoos and flash sheets of ready made designs based on children's drawings.

Wyld Chyld Tattoos
In Google Analytics, traffic from local search rose 43 percent over one year. The site draws about 2,000 to 3,000 visitors a month. The front counter once needed three people at a time and now runs with one, or two on the busiest days. The person at the counter calls back clients who asked for a consultation and books their appointments. The same person looks after the clients in the shop and the feel of the place.

Bookings increased 2 to 3x, and the calendar stayed booked at least two weeks out. With more appointments scheduled in advance, she could take more total appointments and rely less on walk ins to fill gaps.

SophTattoos
Ads produced returns in the high hundreds to low thousands percent during strong demand windows and stayed profitable in slower seasons. They now account for about eighty seven percent of new clients, creating a consistent pipeline instead of random spikes. At peak performance, demand surged enough to cause admin strain, and the consistency helped SophTattoos maintain a steady clientele long term.

White Rabbit
The aggressive strategy moved real numbers. For three straight months, our funnels and ads drove a third of White Rabbit's bookings, month after month rather than in a single spike. The first month of that push alone lifted bookings fifteen percent over baseline, reversing the slide that started the whole project. Just as valuable, the studio finally had full visibility into the customer journey, so every dollar could be pointed at what actually produced appointments.
